Letter from President - Pearl Pham

As your President, I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside such a talented and dedicated executive committee. Our shared commitment to supporting our members with professional, community service, and social opportunities has led to the success of our fraternity.

Throughout this term, we have worked tirelessly to provide our members with valuable experiences that add to their college experiences. Our professional events, such as workshops and guest speaker series, have given our members the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their future careers.

Our community service events have allowed us to give back to the community while fostering a sense of teamwork and unity within our fraternity. We have organized successful fundraisers, volunteered at local charities, and participated in various community events.

And, of course, our social events (retreat, banquets, formals, and more) have provided our members with a fun and engaging atmosphere to bond with one another and make lifelong friendships.

As a united executive committee, we have accomplished so much together, and I am proud of each and every one of you. It has been a blessing to work alongside all of you and see the passion and dedication you bring to our fraternity.

Thank you Delta Sigma Pi for all the lifelong friends, cherished memories, and invaluable experiences that have significantly enriched my life!

Letter from Senior Vice President - Deisha Adhishesh

I am truly so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve on Big 3 as Senior Vice President of the Gamma Xi chapter for the Winter 2023 term. DSP was the first community I joined upon starting college, and continues to be an organization that I care deeply about in a way unlike any other. What attracted me to come to recruitment as a freshman was the charisma, care, and willingness of the brotherhood to help prospects recognize their potential. The seamless recruitment process I went through was a catalyst for my growth within the chapter. 2 years later as a junior, I hoped to leave the same impact on potential members of our chapter, and help them understand what they can bring to the table.

DSP’s 3 pillars are Brotherhood, Service, and Professionalism. Past recruitment cycles have done an amazing job at promoting the professionalism pillar, which is something I continued this term as well. However, I truly do believe that the Gamma Xi has so much to offer in addition to professionalism, especially in our areas of brotherhood and service. For that reason, my goal with recruitment this term was to focus on what prospects could gain from being in the chapter, not only what you can gain after graduation. The theme for recruitment this term was “Spark Your Journey”, which aligned with my goal of helping prospects extract the greatest potential from within themselves. Every recruitment process has its’ highs and lows, but I am so grateful that my amazing team behind me in EC was able to make this recruitment successful. From hosting the first-ever community service event during recruitment to creating genuine connections with prospects, we were able to do it all.

I am so thankful to have a great support system behind me this term, but would like to thank our VP of Marketing Maddie, specifically, for being my right-hand throughout this entire process. I loved being able to see the amazing recruits transform into our new Alpha Tau pledge class at the end of the term. My heartiest congrats to the Alpha Taus, I am so excited to see you all continue to give back to the Gamma Xi chapter!

Letter from Pledge Educator - Keane Ching

Firstly, I wanted to thank Anna, Ishani, and Pranav for being the backbone of this pledge process. Ever since the start of this journey, I wanted every member of this pledge team to take full ownership of our process and I couldn’t have done it without their hard work, dedication, and support. I feel truly honored that the chapter would put their trust and faith in me to guide this group of 11 Alpha Taus throughout the pledging process. Being the VP of Pledge Education has been a goal of mine ever since I crossed those many years ago and I hope that we were able to do right by you all. The unwavering support and constant feedback from the chapter helped us adapt our pledge process to make it the most beneficial process it can be for the pledges and I thank you for that. We wanted to develop a process that would provide insight into the professional world and give the pledges a headstart on all those skills that you can’t learn in a classroom but also keep them on their toes. We wanted the pledges to get comfortable with the uncomfortable and understand that, by incorporating simple things like getting 1% better every day into your routine, you will always be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

To the Taus:

My pledge process over four years ago was genuinely one of the most enjoyable and unique experiences of my entire life - I had never experienced anything like it and I doubt that I will encounter something similar in the future. Cherish those memories, find comfort and support in each other, and enjoy the little things. The focus our the pledge process was for your professional and, more importantly, personal growth but I learned so much about myself throughout these weeks as well so thank you for that. It has been a great privilege to get to know each of you and see you grow into your own individuals. Seeing your development, and your confidence blossom as you overcame adversity and began to really thrive has been a highlight of my senior year.  As much as I enjoy messing with you guys, you are the future of this chapter and I couldn’t be more proud and excited to see what you will accomplish in the years to come.
