What are some of the things you admire about DSP women?

“Some of the things I admire about DSP women is how hardworking, beautiful, and kind everyone is! Each woman in the chapter has done incredible things for their own career and to help others, which I find very honorable. The women of DSP make the chapter as strong as it is today, and I love each and every one of them.”

How can women empower other women in the workplace?

“Women can support other women in the workplace by contributing to a culture of lifting each other up instead of putting each other down. Too often, women feel a need to fight against each other to reach their goals. I think the first step in combatting this negative mentality is to recognize we are all working towards the same goal: ensuring everyone can achieve their goals, regardless of their gender.”

Who is the most influential female figure you know? How have they inspired you?

The most influential female figure I know is my mom. Professionally, she has been able to accomplish almost everything she puts her mind to and constantly works extremely hard for it. I think a lot of my work ethic and goal-setting mindset stems from growing up around that environment and it has helped to progress my career immensely!

“After going through various internships and being someone that is about to go into the workforce, how do you feel about women's treatment in the corporate world?”

Before my first internship, I was definitely nervous to be going into such a male dominant field. However, I was lucky to find really great mentors and friends right away! I got the chance to get to know one of the partners at my firm, and it was such a great experience working with her. I really admired her as a role model not only as an SCU alum but also as a woman in business!

For future women in business: Don’t be afraid to reach out and speak up! Connect with as many people as you can regardless of gender or how high their roles are. Many will be happy to help you and support your endeavors.
