Fall Quarter 2022: Facing the Future Together

The Fall quarter was an exciting time for DSP’s Gamma Xi chapter. It was our first entirely in-person recruitment process after quite a bit of time! Over the course of an engaging recruitment week, we had the opportunity to meet so many amazing individuals. We were also lucky to meet our newest pledge class – the Alpha Sigmas. The Alpha Sigmas have now crossed over, and we’re excited to have them as part of the Brotherhood!

Congratulations to the Alpha Sigmas! We’re so happy that you’re part of the Gamma Xi chapter!

Letter from President

Hi Brothers! I want to start off by sincerely thanking the incredible members of the Gamma Xi chapter for trusting me to serve as President. This experience is one that I will likely always remember, as it has been delightfully challenging and rewarding. I owe this organization greatly for the incredible impact that it has had on my time here at Santa Clara, and I’m truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to give back in such a direct and meaningful way.

While preparing for this term with my executive committee, my most important goal was to ensure that the chapter existed to be a resource for our brothers, prospects, and students at Santa Clara in every sense of the word. Whether it be professionally through professional skillset workshops, alumni panels, networking events, and job recruitment panels; or socially through our weekly meetings, community outreach, and our service events; I wanted to make sure that DSP left a positive impact on everyone who was kind enough to give our chapter their effort, presence, and time.

All our successes during this term were made possible by the incredible group of individuals that I was fortunate enough to work with in my Executive Committee. Their effort and dedication resulted in a term that was filled to the brim with wonderfully planned events that have left our community feeling more tight-knit and supportive than ever before. I’m also incredibly proud to have welcomed 15 wonderfully passionate and hardworking new members into our chapter through the Alpha Sigma Pledge class who I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know throughout the quarter. There’s no doubt in my mind that each of them will grow to be incredible leaders and beloved members of our chapter.

While this term had its ups and downs, I’m so proud of what we were able to accomplish. To the members of my EC, I can’t thank you enough for not only the support that you gave me, but also for continually going above and beyond for our chapter during this quarter. Huge shoutout to Griffin for a fantastic start to our quarter with an outstandingly executed Fall Recruitment, and to Amelia and her pledge team for redefining the pledging process and providing the Alpha Sigma Class with a wonderfully planned and meaningful experience. I can’t wait to see the amazing things our chapter carries out moving forward!

Letter from Senior Vice President

Serving as Senior Vice President for a chapter that has given so much to me has been one of the most rewarding experiences that I have had at Santa Clara. Leading Delta Sigma Pi’s fall recruitment was particularly fulfilling because I was able to see the personal growth and professional development of our newest group of pledges (who are now active brothers) over the past few weeks.

Ensuring that the Gamma Xi Chapter continues to thrive and grow even after I graduate means a lot to me, and I am confident that our chapter’s newest pledge class, passionate leadership team, and determined group of brothers will put the chapter in a position to do just that. I want to thank the entire chapter who supported me throughout recruitment week and the rest of the term. Recruitment would not have been as special as it was without all their help, insights, and enthusiasm.

Finally, if you are reading this and questioning whether to come out for a DSP recruitment in the future, I will leave you by saying this: Joining DSP was one of the best decisions of my life, and you will not regret being a part of such an amazing community. Everyone in this chapter wants to see one another succeed, and you can always count on your brothers to have your back.

Letter from Pledge Educator

I am so honored to have served as Pledge Educator for the Alpha Sigmas (Fall 2022). It has been a busy quarter preparing to welcome 15 bright business students into the Gamma Xi chapter. My incredible team Joseph, Keli, and Suren developed thoughtful workshops and socials to bring the PC closer together and help them grow professionally. Because of them, and the guidance from the rest of our chapter, the Alpha Sigma’s were able to step out of their comfort zones and persevere through the demanding pledge process.

This is a pledge class full of ambition and excitement. I see innovators and leaders and changemakers, and I am so excited to welcome this incredible group into the chapter.
